Community and Safety Standards

1. Our principles

Private does not mean ungoverned. Treat people with care, share only content you have the right to share, and respect another person's boundaries. GentleHello is available only to people aged 18 or older.

2. Prohibited conduct and content

Do not use GentleHello to create, upload, send, request, promote, or facilitate:

• Child sexual abuse or exploitation, grooming, or sexualized content involving a minor.
• Non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual exploitation, sextortion, or threats to share intimate content.
• Credible threats, incitement of violence, terrorism, human trafficking, or instructions to cause serious harm.
• Harassment, stalking, bullying, coercion, or repeated unwanted contact.
• Hateful conduct that attacks or dehumanizes people based on a protected characteristic.
• Impersonation, scams, fraud, phishing, malware, or attempts to obtain another person's verification code or account access.
• Content that violates another person's privacy, intellectual-property rights, or other legal rights.
• Illegal goods, services, or activity, or any other content prohibited by applicable law.

Do not evade a block, create another account to continue unwanted contact, or misuse reporting tools to intimidate someone.

3. Child safety

GentleHello has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, trafficking, sexual solicitation involving a minor, or content that sexualizes a real or apparent minor. Synthetic or altered content is covered when it depicts or promotes this abuse.

We may preserve relevant evidence, remove content, disable accounts, and report apparent child sexual exploitation to the appropriate authorities or child-safety organizations when required or permitted by law. Never download, forward, or redistribute suspected CSAM in order to report it. Use the in-app report controls or contact us with a description that does not attach the material.

4. Report, block, and get help

• Use Report from the relevant connection, post, or conversation.
• Use Block to end normal contact and sharing access. Reporting and blocking are separate actions.
• Email hello@gentlehello.com if you cannot access the app.

Include enough context for us to identify the concern, but do not email verification codes, passwords, access tokens, or illegal sexual material. The person you report is not told who submitted the report through the app.

5. How we respond

We assess reports using the available context, these standards, our Terms, and applicable law. Depending on severity and confidence, we may limit features, remove content, end a connection, suspend or delete an account, preserve limited safety evidence, or refer a matter to authorities. We may act immediately where there is a credible risk of serious harm.

We may ask for additional information or decide that the available information does not establish a violation. To protect privacy and safety, we may not disclose every detail of an investigation or action taken against another account.
