Account-specific help

Contact support in the app

For an account, data-copy, safety, or technical issue, use Profile → Settings → Help & safety. A signed-in request lets us verify the account and keeps your note in the restricted support queue.

Quick answers

Common questions

Why can’t the two phones find each other?

Both people must open Profile → Add connection at the same time. Keep both phones nearby, unlocked, and on that screen. Allow Bluetooth and local-network access when asked. If detection stalls, stop detecting on both phones, reopen the screen, and try again.

Why can a new connection see my older posts?

GentleHello shares your currently published profile history with active connections. Archive or delete a post before connecting if you do not want it in your shared history.

Who can see my reactions and replies?

Reactions and post responses go into your one-to-one conversation with that connection. They are not shown as public comments beneath the post.

Why am I not receiving notifications?

Open GentleHello Settings and check the notification status, then confirm that notifications are allowed in your phone’s system settings. Notification delivery also depends on network access and a correctly configured production build.

How do I request a copy of my data?

While signed in, open Profile → Settings → Help & safety → Request a copy of your data. Support will verify and arrange secure delivery. Do not delete your account while the request is open; deletion closes it and the copy cannot be delivered afterward.

How do I delete my account?

Open Profile → Settings → Delete account, request a fresh verification code, and follow the confirmation steps. Read the full account deletion guide before continuing.

How do I report an account, post, or message?

Use Report from the relevant connection profile, post, conversation, or connection controls. Reporting and blocking are separate. The other person is not told that you submitted a report. Read our Community and Safety Standards for prohibited content and our response process.

Is GentleHello an emergency service?

No. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In Singapore, call 999 for police or 995 for fire and ambulance. In the United States, call 911.
